host a volunteer

”Having a Time for God volunteer has been a game-changer for our church community.
TfG talked to us to get a sense of who we were and what we needed, then matched us with wonderful young people who had expressed interest in just the sort of youth and families work we were doing, and in just the sort of open, curious, and inclusive community we aspire to be. To see the effect of such new energy on a community is truly inspiring. I’d recommend TfG to anyone."

why you should host a time for god volunteer

Dedicated Volunteer

Time For God volunteers give a year of their time for a variety of reasons but each is committed to service, mission and simple living. The majority of volunteers are international and come from a wide range of backgrounds denominationally, culturally and economically. Time For God volunteers form a network of volunteers contributing to the work of over 60 Christian organisations across the UK working in churches, community and social projects.

Tailored approach to your needs

As you consider the opportunity of hosting a volunteer Time For God will work with you in thinking through the details. After you apply a member of staff will visit you at the placement to talk through your application in more detail and answer any questions you may have. We will also be sure to understand what qualities and interests you are looking for in a volunteer.

We recruit and match

We find a volunteer, usually aged between 18-30, through our network of international partners to fulfil a specific role in your placement.  We ensure they are a good fit to meet your requirements, working 35-38 hours per week for 10-12 months, beginning in either January or September. Once TfG finds you a match we will help you prepare to welcome them into your community. We offer resources and training to help equip you to host a volunteer.

our hosting organisations say...

It is an absolute pleasure to partner with TfG. The wonderful folks at Time for God send us an extremely diverse range of volunteers each year to come and learn how to be an Activity Instructor.
Chris Browning
Chief Instructor, Whitemoor Lakes, UK
It has been an absolute honour to work with TfG, with each volunteer bringing something different to the service. As a result, we have been able to run creative classes, music sessions, health and fitness opportunities and one-one befriending.
Laura McNamee Head of Services
Bethany Trust , Edinburgh, Scotland
Volunteers are the life blood of the church. It is so good to see people from different backgrounds and churches bringing so much diversity to our community. They bring so much fun and encouragement to our young people as they learn from them.

Pastor, Hazel Grove Community Church

How long is a programme?

We have two cohorts every year starting in January and September. Each programme runs between 10 months and 12 months. We work flexibly around this as it often depends on the placement and also sometimes the volunteer and the periods, they are able to commit to for various reasons. Please get in touch with office@timeforgod.org if you have any questions regarding any of the above.

How much does it cost to host a volunteer?

The fee to host a volunteer for September 2025 and January 2026 is £360 per calender month.

TfG will  review these cost each year and reserve the right to increase and will consult placements ahead of time.

There is also other cost associated to hosting a volunteer that are independent of TfG, and we will outline these at the time of application to partner with us.  For more information, please contact office@timeforgod.org for full information pack on the programme.

Are there any age requirements?

We require applicants to be between the ages of 18 – 30 years old.

There may be odd occasions when we will consider older candidates (30 – 35 years old) if projects specially require more experienced volunteers.
