volunteering from...
TfG works with a range of international partners. They help us recruit suitable volunteers and assist by preparing them for the year abroad. If you are in one of these countries, you may approach our sending partners to enquire about opportunities available through TfG in the UK. Applying via a sending organisation means you will receive additional support during the recruitment process and throughout your service in the UK.
types of placement
Since it's inception Time for God has partnered with over 150 placements across the UK.
Every year we work with over 40 projects offering a diverse range of opportunities. All our placements offer challenging and enriching opportunities that will make a difference to volunteers.
TFG STORIES
volunteer FAQs
Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about the programme.
How long does the programme last?
We offer opportunities for anything between 10 - 12 months only. Of course this will depend on placement and also the requirements but we are happy to offer this flexibility to allow more people to get the opportunity to be on the programme.
How much does it cost?
Time for God does not charge administration fees.
However, applicants need to be aware of costs associated with UKVI costs and requirements. We recommend that applicants familiarise themselves with UKVI stipulations.
Generally, the placement will provide volunteer with accomodation and food whilst they are at the placement.
Do I need a visa to volunteer in the UK?
Anyone who is not a British Citizen living outside the United Kingdom requires a visa to volunteer in the UK. Only UK citizens or individuals with settled status can join the programme without a UK Visa.
Time for God is a Sponsor for Tier 5 Charity License holder through UK Visa and Immigration. This means that we can issue Certifificate of Sponsorship that allows suitable individuals to apply for a visa to volunteer in the UK under TfG programme.
Can I choose where I volunteer?
Time for God staff go through a rigorous process during the recruitment process where we assess skills, intrests and motivation of the applicant.
We also carry out an equally rigorous assessment of placement to narrow down the type requirements and the most suitable attributes required from a volunteer we match them with.
Our matching process is based on applicant and placement common attributes and we are proud that our tailored approach has been successful for almost 60 years.
The applicant has much input in choosing a placement but under our capable staff's direction.
