What is your name and where are you from?

My name is Juan Manuel Vasquez and I am from Bogota, Colombia.

What year did you serve with TfG? What was the one thing about being on TfG year that excited you?

I did my service with Time for God from January 2024 to January 2025.  It is hard to say a single thing that excited me on my year, but one of the things that  really excited my was learning about a new culture while serving others at the same time.

What made you want to be a TfG Ambassador? What does it mean to you?

During my time with TfG I realized the importance and the impact that a year of service can have on both the volunteers and the community that receives that service. I learnt a lot and the opportunity to serve God and others was wonderful. I think the mission that TfG is doing is both beautiful and important and I want to keep being part of it.

What advice do you give to other young people contemplating a year of service?

I would advise them to have both an open mind and an open heart. To serve in another country for a year is not something easy, you will have great moments and hard ones, it is never what you expected before but it is worth it, even in difficult times you will learn a lot.
